New High Power Solar Panel - 500mA, 7.5 Watts
The ICP Solar battery charger, Sunsei SE-500, slowly charges larger
12V deep-cycle batteries, protecting them through long storage periods.
Larger vehicles require the larger 7.5 watt solar battery charger.
Vehicles such as pick-ups, vans, RVs, or boats have
larger battery drains simply because they carry more electronics such as small
appliances, bilge pumps etc.
The ICP solar battery charger, Sunsei SE 500, connects in seconds, and keeps
your battery fully topped up when your vehicle or boat is not in use. This solar saver helps extend the
battery life of cars, RVs and mid size boats. The Sunsei 500 is
efficient under low-light and extreme weather conditions.
The Sunsei SE-500 can also be used as a charger for portable electronics, fence chargers, gate openers, and deer feeders.
The Sunsei SE-500 is a new upgraded solar panel that replaces the Sunsei SE-400. The Sunsei SE-500 solar saver
uses the latest solar panel design and technology to provide increased power with the same size panel as the SE-400. You get 7.5 watts
an increase of 25% over the SE-400. The Sunsei SE-500 now comes with a 10 year manufacturer power warranty.

ICP Sunsei 500 Solar Battery Charger FAQs
|
Do I need a charge controller with the Sunsei SE-500 Solar Battery Charger?
Generally, a charge controller is not required for the SolarCharger Sunsei SE-500
because it is not powerful enough to overcharge your battery. However, a charge
controller may be required for lower capacity batteries. In general a battery with 150 AHr capacity cannot be overcharged
with the Sunsei SE-500.
|
Can the Sunsei 500 Solar Battery Charger drain my battery at night?
No. All Sunsei™ solar panels in the SE-150, SE-500 and SE-1500 range are equipped with a
built-in diode, which prevents any reverse current.
|
Do I have to disconnect the panels from the battery when I drive or while
I am recharging my battery with my generator?
No, Sunsei™ solar panels are designed to be connected to the battery permanently.
There is no need to disconnect them when charging the batteries by other means such as AC
chargers or your vehicle's generator or alternator.
|
Can I mount the Sunsei SE-500 Solar Battery Charger directly to a surface or do
I need to use some sort of bracket?
Sunsei™ solar panels can be installed directly to a flat surface, using the screws provided.
Note: The Sunsei SE-500 Solar Battery Charger is compatible with the
Sunsei™
SolarGrip™. It provides alternative mounting options (no need to drill
your deck or roof) and rotates 360° for double the solar power.
|
Can the Sunsei 500 Solar Battery Charger be left outdoors without protective covering?
Yes, the SolarCharger SE-500 has been weather protected and can be mounted outdoors.
It is completely weatherproofed, and can withstand 1/2 inch hailstones, up to 180°F
heat, and operate under 3 inches of snow (on sunny days).
|
How long will it take for the Sunsei 500 Solar Battery Charger to charge a dead battery?
The SolarCharger SE-500 is designed to trickle charge batteries. It compensates for
natural voltage losses and key-off small instrumentation drain by replenishing your battery.
|
What types of batteries can I charge?
You can trickle charge all types of 12V batteries with the Sunsei 500 Solar Battery Charger,
including lead-acid automotive batteries, deep cycle (traction type) batteries, gel-cell
batteries and heavy-duty (stationary type) batteries.
